Dysport

Dysport is an injectable agent used to temporarily diminish or eliminate lines and wrinkles on the face by relaxing underlying facial muscles. It is a bacterium-produced neuromuscular toxin and is approved by the FDA for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. This procedure is very effective at softening the lines and wrinkles that come from facial expression such as crow’s feet, forehead lines and frowned lines.

Dynamic wrinkles or wrinkles caused by facial expression and muscle movement, frequently occur in the area around the eyes. These wrinkles are very responsive to Dysport treatments, resulting in smoother skin and fewer wrinkles. The treatment effectively reduces or eliminates crow's feet and other wrinkles around the eyes.

Patients with oversized masseter muscles, the muscles of the jaw used for chewing, can also be treated with Dysport. It help reduce the size of masseter muscles, resulting in a gently curved cheek and jaw.  The reduction of muscle thickness noticeably refines the angle of the patient's jaw.

There is virtually no recovery time necessary for Dysport treatment; you can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment. The injection itself takes about 10 minutes.  After 3-5 days the improvement in fine lines and wrinkles will be seen and the effects last for 4-6 months.
Patients considering Dysport injection should avoid aspirin, oral supplements, and other anti-inflammatory medications at least 3-4 days before treatment in order to avoid unusual bleeding or bruising.
